Senior Archaeologist

Yucwmenlúcwu (Caretakers of the Land) LLP is a full-service Heritage, Environmental, and Forestry resource management company based in Enderby, BC. Current Opportunity:
Our archaeology department is seeking a Senior Archaeologist for a full-time position in Enderby, BC. This role reports to the Principal Archaeologist. Responsibilities:
- Holding Heritage Conservation Act permits in the Interior Plateau cultural region of BC.
- Design, manage, and lead archaeological projects.
- Engagement with First Nations, proponents, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentorship and training of staff archaeologists and First Nations technicians.
- Analysis and reporting.
- Preparing proposals and other business development activities.
- Actively participate in the Yucwmenlúcwu Safety Management System.
Minimum Qualifications
- Permit holding status in the Interior Plateau cultural region of BC.
- Graduate degree in Archaeology or Anthropology, or an undergraduate degree with equivalent experience.
- Proven writing skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Heritage Conservation Act and regulatory process.
- Experience directing archaeological assessments, excavations, and monitoring for the full range of archaeological site types.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to work outdoors in challenging field conditions.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Professional specializations in any of the following: lithic analysis, faunal analysis, statistical analysis, geoarchaeology, paleobotany, or remote sensing techniques.
- Registered Professional Consulting Archaeologist.
- Previous experience working with a First Nation organization.
- Thorough understanding of the First Nations consultation process.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality.
