Highbridge Human Capital is excited to be working with our amazing client, Casasanta, on their search for an Intermediate Accountant. Casasanta is family-owned and operated bakery equipment manufacturing and services company that has been in business for over thirty years. They pride themselves on their ability to manufacture baking equipment that allows customers to make the best fresh breads and artisan pizzas for families to enjoy all over the world.
The Opportunity:
The Intermediate Accountant will provide financial support and expertise in keeping with the direction of the Controller. The Intermediate Accountant will also be responsible for all financial aspects including cost accounting, project accounting, budgeting, tracking and reporting as well as client specific payment and reporting.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have strong problem solving, attention to detail and organizational skills. The Intermediate Accountant will have the ability to manage time, work independently and take initiative.
A day in the life of the Intermediate Accountant – role and responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy of cost accounting data, and manage project accounts
- Participate in the month end close process, examine and analyze ledger entries, validate balance sheets accounts and other accounting and financial records
- Provides back up to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Support finance team with monthly financial management reports
- Support monthly/quarterly management reports along with variance analysis as required
- Assist with the budget and forecast process
- Prepare, maintain, and provide recommendations for improvements to accounting processes
- Maintain strong customer relationships by responding to inquiries on a timely basis
- Maintain standards of confidentiality with respect to private information
- Adhere to all company policies and procedure
- Perform any other duties that may be superficially or generally assigned
Requirements – what you bring to the company:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience within finance in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Proven experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or related roles.
- Experience in performing financial analysis
- Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
- Previous experience using Sage Accounting Software, an asset
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new applications
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently to meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and results driven; prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization and ability to work well as part of a team
Effort:
- Frequent periods of mental and visual concentration during computer work and analyses
- Frequent interruptions which require the ability to manage several priorities and refocus quickly
- Involves some walking throughout plant
- Volume of work is steady with periods of high demand and time pressures
Working Conditions:
- Most work is carried out in a typical business office with occasional visits to the shop floor which requires wearing personal protective equipment
- Exposure to elements such as dust, temperature and noise during time spent on shop floor
