Their goals include creating economic growth from the commercial development of natural resources within the Simpcw’ulécw (Simpcw Territory) by being the major contractor and competing for work in both the public and private sectors.

Highbridge Human Capital is excited help our client find a dynamic, organized self-starter to lead the Simpcw Resource Group’s Human Resources department as an Human Resources Manager in the BC Interior.


The Human Resources Manager is hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to SRG’s people initiatives. The role is critical in executing their people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This person will play a vital role in the development and implementation of HR programs, processes and policies. They will manage day-to-day HR activities by supporting employee relations, leading recruitment initiatives, managing and maintaining employee data, supporting the administration of payroll and compensation, creating HR communications, and acting as a support and advisor to management.

The Human Resources Manager will have the ability to manage time, work independently, take initiative and champion projects through to completion, as well as, have an exceptional ability to build trusted relationships with leadership and employees.

A day in the life of the Human Resources Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

With the guidance of and working with the CEO & executive team, you will support this rapidly growing organization through the development and administration of critical HR policies and processes.

You will:

  • Develop, maintain and deploy strong company HR policies, processes and employee tools aligned to our culture and in compliance with all regulations (e.g., employee handbooks, HR process manuals and guides)
  • Ensure a safe workplace with health and safety standards, processes and compliance
  • Lead all aspects of recruitment, offer preparation and negotiation, reference and ROE validation, and onboarding (including office logistics) of talent to support our growth
  • Lead effective offboarding as required (terminations, exit interviews, ROE preparation)
  • Manage and maintain all employee data and records, including: employment contracts, records of employment, vacation, PTO and leave tracking
  • Develop and maintain job profiles and descriptions and organization charts
  • Execute compensation/payroll administration and processing of payments (through 3rd party) for both salaried and hourly employees
  • Lead employee communications related to all HR policies and activities
  • Supported by the Executive Team, oversee and support the effective development, deployment and maintenance of a performance management process
  • Working with the CFO, leverage and administer government program submissions and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support the Executive Team and employees in the management of employee disputes or concerns

What you bring to the organization/Requirements:

  • College certification in HR or University degree in related disciplines
  • CHRP (or CHRL) certification an asset
  • 5+ years of direct human resources operations experience that shows steady progression into HR management
  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience with current and changing employment law
  • Able to read and write articulately in English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Experience creating policies and processes
  • Experience administering payroll
