Highbridge Human Capital is excited to be partnering with our financial client to hire their Finance Director. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this senior role involves both interacting with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and being responsible for the accounting and record keeping of the organization. Additional responsibilities include management of information technologies, insurance, sales tax reporting, federal income tax reporting, external audits and human resources.

They will be tasked with ensuring accuracy but also improving efficiency of the finance and accounting function as well as the overall business. In addition to overseeing accounting activities and ensure that accounting information is accurate in order to provide key information to help to make informed strategic decisions.


The primary objective of the Finance Director is to drive and support the financial results of the Organization in Partnership with the CFO and Senior Leadership.

This role is responsible for developing and managing daily financial and management functions.

The Fine Print

  • Oversee all financial related matters, including accounting, payroll, claims, payables, and receivables.
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Managing the budget process.
  • Attending meetings with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems, monitor compliance and efficiencies of controls.
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
  • Manage and coordinate tax reporting and compliance.
  • Oversee accounting staff.
  • Lead the reporting and analytics capabilities to enable strategic decision making and drive strong financial performance.
  • Establish, track and report on benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
  • Demonstrates leadership, team-working and time management skills, taking on an extracurricular projects and new initiatives when needed.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.


  • Qualified Accounting Professional.
  • 5+ years of experience of leading finance and accounting teams.
  • Proven track record of leading and being a change agent.
  • Excellent written communication style, responsible for drafting materials submitted to the Audit Committee.
  • In depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Previous experience with accounting consolidation, an asset.
  • Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality accounting materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, friendly, professional and proactive manner.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Organized and ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word and accounting software.
