The Opportunity:

The EDI Specialist maintains control over all electronic orders, invoices, purchase orders, confirmations, and advance ship notifications (ASN). The EDI Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and supporting all EDI related developments for the organization.

A Day in the Life of the EDI Specialist:

The EDI Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the electronic data interchange transaction flow and activities and will be the liaison between suppliers, customers, and end-users. The individual will maintain existing EDI maps and create new maps when required. The individual will be capable of quickly understanding business processes in relation to EDI, organizing projects and tasks, and communicating at all levels of the organization.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • A strong understanding of EDI documents in a B2B workflow. Working with 3rd parties to create integrations between our business and external customers/vendors
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and align business needs for EDI processes and systems, implement and track improvements
  • Documenting all new and existing EDI connections and work with the operations department to determine the best way to implement new business processes for EDI
  • Complete end-to-end testing of transactional mapping and EDI interfaces
  • Implement routine monitoring, reporting, logging, and notifications for EDI transmissions and EDI data quality
  • Responsible for working with various clients and accounts, not only on setting up connections and integrating various systems, but also training stakeholders on the systems and processes
  • Communicating identified gaps to the management team in a simplified manner
  • Periodically review EDI system to ensure client needs are met; identifies possible modifications as required
  • Ensuring all systems run smoothly and efficiently
  • Keep up to date on new technologies, innovations, and trends within the industry
  • Assist with special projects and tasks within the IT department as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in EDI, IT, and inventory management with consumer goods experience preferred
  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or Supply Chain Management
  • Specialized in ERP systems, Bluelink experience an asset
  • Experience working with EDI-Electronic Data Interchange of purchase orders, invoices with other B2B/supply-chain networks
  • Proven ability to successfully manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to multi-task across multiple projects and work with multiple departments
  • System Integrations and Networking experience an asset
  • Experience with CommerceHub/SPS commerce is a bonus
