SRLLP is looking for an experienced Asset Managerto support the company’s management of its core equipment and vehicle fleet to ensure optimal unit care, safety and performance. Some tracking, procurement and warehousing initiatives will also be required to meet these objectives. This position will be located in the Barriere, BC area.


  • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection as required by SRLLP policies and procedures
  • Oversight of the Preventative Maintenance Plan; coordinating service and maintenance of a growing fleet of company vehicles and various pieces of equipment to minimize downtime and maintain schedules
  • Mobilizing equipment and vehicles for specific project and departmental requirements
  • Coordinating the proper disposal of older equipment, vehicles and company assets
  • Management of GPS tracking software and company fuel cards
  • Assisting with the procurement of properties, including transfer of tenants, services, leases and maintenance of buildings
  • Procurement and acquisition of equipment and fleet, in accordance with capital budget
  • Manage the purchasing of consumables and other small tools, materials and supplies
  • Set up vendor accounts, and work with accounts payable to ensure accounts are in good standing
  • Oversight, direction and performance management of multiple direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Asset/Fleet/Equipment Manager, or Foreman/Supervisory role in the construction industry
  • Procurement Certification is considered an asset (SCMP, CPP, etc)
  • Extensive knowledge of the transportation and heavy equipment industry, equipment hauling and maintenance schedules
  • Capability to identify, troubleshoot, foresee or and/or resolve problems pertaining to vehicles and equipment before they become significant issues
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining construction/fleet management software (i.e HCSS)
  • Sound administrative skills with experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships in a team environment
  • Perceptive and ability to implement requests at short notice
  • Ability to manage data and files efficiently and effectively
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, multitask and manage time
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Valid BC drivers license and ability to provide a drivers abstract
  • Must be willing to travel and stay overnight when required (5%-10%)
  • Experience working with First Nations people is valued
  • Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued
